An interesting project has been implemented in Medialab Gdańsk, which operates in City Culture Institute of Gdańsk  (one of the Bridging Digital Partners).
A group of experts, philologists, translators and historians jointly prepared a transcription of the first volume of journals from the journeys of Christian Fischer and Nathaneal Jakub Gerlach from 1727 – over 300 pages of the manuscript! As a result, this eighteenth-century text in German is much more accessible to a larger group of researchers. CCI already in October announces the organization of several workshops and meetings inspired by this text to show the potential of such a source material – for scientists, artists and culture staff.
The original and transcribed text is available from the Pomeranian Digital Library.
