“Create Performing Arts with VR” the course that Intercult organizes in the spring of 2023, have now started with a two-day workshop at SITE – Production Center for Performing Arts with our artistic mentor Jonas Myrstrand!

The course’s participants were introduced to the Virtual Reality technology under the guidance of Jonas Myrstrand (immersive filmmaker and producer) and technical assistant Josefin HolmströmOculus quest 2 VR headsets and INSTA360 ONE X2 camera.

During the workshop, it was discussed how VR technology can fill a need within performing arts in broad terms. We also researched what possibilities there are for VR, in 360 filming, and if it can enhance cultural experiences?

Many thoughts, feelings and ideas arose about the challenge of working with technology in their own business and artistic creation. How it can be applied and used remains to be seen. The participants have now borrowed the VR equipment and will, in the meantime, before the next course session, explore the possibilities with VR that are available for them to use.

We we would like to thank Jonas for this “learning by doing” unique experience and SITE for the hospitality!

The course is a practical implementation of the VR method that we practiced within the framework of Bridging Digital Erasmus+ in collaboration with Instytut Kultury Miejskiej Fablevision and the Hellenic Adult Education Association.
